OOTD Shop in the East Village!

On a lovely Sunday after church we stumbled across this amazing little shop cleverly named OOTD (outfit of the day). The name was not what grabbed my attention about the store; it was the amazing T-shirt I saw in the window featuring a variation on my favorite super heroines  -The Sailor Scouts and Sailor Moon! Their (altered) likenesses on a (faux) Gu[c]ci T-shirt by a brand called Nezavisiy out of Japan.

Throwing names on t-shirts never did anything for me, but I happen to love what the great Alessandro Michele is doing with The Gucci empire these days. The cost is always a little bit out of reach for me. So, this Gu[c]ci shirt with Sailormoon-esque characters sent my fashion sense and my childhood nostalgia soaring - plus I think the whole off-brand faux luxury element is fun and campy. I had to pop in and see that shirt!

Once inside I asked for a large and noticed more cool things within. The shop was so nice and thoughtfully curated. Trendy jewelry, fashion tops, dresses, rompers, oh my! Such a cool shop that just popped up next door to my church on 7th street. It’s so great! I was so taken by it that I asked the sales associate if they were open to taking on any new independent designers (ME). She nodded and gave me the store manager’s email. Yippie! Always seeing - always dreaming! 🤩
