Sourcing Inspiration
Sometimes looking at the raw materials in the beautiful morning sunlight is the best place to start. There’s a big bay window platform at Parkside Creamery near our apartment, and I can spread out early in the morning and feel, hear, and see inspiration in my sources - recent photos I’ve taken, swatches, look books, and good music!
Taking Risks
Sometimes, the most inspiring things are accidents you find while you’re walking around, living life. George took this picture of me last Labor Day crouching down in the street in SoHo to get a picture of some shattered blue glass. The blue glass is a fun contrast against my yellow hat!
Shards of Inspiration
Another pic of broken glass - this one taken just this morning on my way to work! The shards of broken glass on the pavement can shimmer and sparkle like facets in a cut gemstone!
Slice of Light
Sunlight streaming in through the window in my office kitchen over a lemon my colleague was slicing. So beautiful, so severe.

A pile of discarded keyboards in the cool daylight have an amazing look to them.
Adding Dimension
A mess of discarded threads from some cut fabric makes a sketch really come to life with an amazing hair-do!
Cuff Appeal
Such a cool concept - really deep cuffs with light/dark contrast!
But First...Flowers
Another stop at les’ Blooms for some amazing roses!!! These were the most vibrant we’ve ever seen!
Mood Boards!
I don’t know about you, but once I’ve gotten enough inspiring photos I love printing them out and making mood boards to build my inspiration story!
