Catskill Daydream

Another weekend in the office lies ahead, so I figured I'd share some reflections from our trip up to the Catskills last Labor Day. Hopefully I'll get up there on Saturday afternoon this year! The Amtrak to Hudson is a beautiful ride.

When we go upstate we stay at this cute resort called Glen Brook Farm with a set of families that has been going for decades! The experience really is magical!

And there's even more beauty a short drive away! The Woodstock flea market is a treat, and they have the most amazing sunflowers and fresh fruit and vegetables lined up like jewel boxes. The town of Hudson, where I get off the Amtrak, is a real art and design hub, with some amazing shops. Magic Hill specializes is elevating older furniture pieces with a fresh coat of some exciting new paint colors...I'm already dreaming of how to reinvent some old pieces I have back home! And if you don't want to pay trendy store prices, there are always amazing garage and yard sales going on to catch the Labor Day vacationers!
